OUR STORY

It all started in 2002, where Cynthia and her husband, Greg, was celebrating their 1st anniversary. Greg took her to Ambria, a French restaurant in Chicago, IL, that had a menu that stretched Cynthia’s imagination. After finishing her 7-course meal, Cynthia insisted that she meet the chef. At this moment, Cynthia realized the impact food could have on anyone’s life and she decided that this would be how she could make a footprint in this world. She began to look at different culinary schools in Chicago only to find out that she was pregnant with twins. Welp, that changed the course of things. Instead of culinary school she became self-taught.

Cynthia took her new found self-taught culinary skills and put them into action after finding out that Greg had health concerns that required him to change his diet. She at first started by removing the dairy from her family’s meals by replacing them with items that would support clean eating. She cooked foods that was not only healthy but delicious. Not just stopping with dairy but she replaced other items such as their meats and condiments. Not aiming to live a vegan lifestyle she found herself understanding clean eating and vegan options would be the best for her husband. Still never attending culinary school, Cynthia still became a personal chef & caterer. She would teach other families how to still have the meals they loved, with a few adjustments to the ingredients to make their meals more in line with clean eating.

During this time her husband, Greg, started to improve in his health. Seeing these results Greg created his own company, Transcending Path. He teamed up with Cynthia and they began to make healthy eating meals for his clients. As successful as they were becoming a simple treat would take center stage. Cynthia would make seasoned popcorn (loaded with B-Vitamins, trace minerals, and amino acids) for their sons’ lunch box. At lunch time their teachers would sneak a chance to taste the popcorn and began to request some for themselves. This led to her making popcorn for their teachers and eventually to selling at farmer’s markets. With much success at the farmer’s markets, in 2013, Cynthia decided to birth The Cynt-Sational Popcorn Company as an LLC. Since hitting the shelves at Whole foods in 2015 her popcorn has become the #1 seller at Whole Foods in Detroit, MI and has deemed her the Popcorn Lady in her home city.

The success of The Cynt-Sational Popcorn Company allowed for Cynthia to embark on a dream she has carried since the beginning of it all. In 2019, she was able to purchase a food truck where she would focus on vegan food and now all types of clean eating options. During this success, Cynthia was faced with Greg going into the hospital in 2018 and after 17 years of a blissful and successful marriage she and her sons abruptly lost Greg in death. She knew she had to rely on God to sustain her and her three sons. They continue to honor the legacy her and Greg by carrying on in making exceptional healthy clean eating foods and plant-based options you can trust.
